Charles Courtney Curran (1861-1942)
Born in Hartford, Kentucky, Curran studied at the Cincinnati School of Design; the Arts Student League and National Academy of Design in New York and the Academie Julian in Paris. He kept studios in New York City and Cragsmore, New York.
Influenced by the Boston School, he is noted for his paintings of women in white dresses atop craggy hilltops with a backdrop of blue sky and white cumulus clouds.
