The RAM Annual Exhibit is the oldest juried art competition in the state of Indiana. This competition is open to all artists, 18 years of age and over, who presently or have previously lived within a 100 mile radius of Richmond, Indiana. Works must be original and current (produced within the last two years.) Any work previously accepted into or exhibited in the galleries of the Richmond Art Museum will not be eligible for submission.
Juror announced for the 114th Annual! Ron Monsma
Ron Monsma has been teaching drawing and painting at Indiana University South Bend since 1997. His work has been exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago and recognized with numerous awards and solo exhibitions in Chicago, Indianapolis and Cincinnati. He is represented in many private and corporate collections throughout the United States and Europe.
In 2000 a number of his works were showcased in the Chinese book Contemporary American Oil Painting published by Jilin Press. Ron’s pastel work has appeared numerous times in other publications as well including The Pastel Journal, International Artist Magazine, Art News Magazine and The Artist’s Magazine. In 2006 his work appeared in Pure Color, the Best of Pastel published by Northlight Books and in the book 20th Century Indiana Landscape Painters. In 2001 Ron received the Diane B. Bernhard Gold Medal Award for Excellence and was awarded the 2008 Jack Richeson Best of Show Award in the 9th Annual Pastel 100 competition sponsored by The Pastel Journal.
