An oil on canvas by George Lienemann being a winter scene in the forest. A large grey beech tree with a few brown leaves towers in the foreground. Other indisinct trees are behind it. Overtones in the foreground are somber, but an opening between two of the trees gives a view toward a distinct clearing with sunshine.
