Love Letters to Self: A Life Well Drawn
Artwork by Constance Edwards Scopelitis

February 4th – April 2, 2023
Reception: February 4th, 1PM – 3PM
Artist Talk: 1:30PM

RAM is pleased to host an exhibit of drawings, lenticular prints (think holograms), and digital media by Indianapolis artist, Constance Edwards Scopelitis. The work will be on display in the Paul and Pat Lingle Gallery.

Merging her graphite drawings with digital media to explore socio-political topics, cultural phenomena, and human psychology, the imagery in the work comes from a deeply psychological place, influenced by contemporary life, where subliminal narratives emerge through the reinterpretation of visual icons from ad campaigns, fashion, graffiti and sexual politics. Using the hooded figure metaphor for hidden meanings, she explores blame, silent cowardice, online anonymity, and the vitriolic atmosphere that can result.

Scopelitis says of her work in this display, “My focus is on the display of my Monumental Drawings. These drawings are executed in a photo-realistic style, with my primary subject encountering issues of socio-political topics, cultural phenomena, and human psychology. Specifically, I have dealt with the occurrence of blame and fault, finger-pointing, and stagnation in meaningful policy reforms.”
