Announcing the Launch of Our New Website

richmond art museum grounds

We’re excited to announce that our new redesigned website is live. The updated site includes changes to the layout of the site, how our digital art collection is displayed, a more stream-lined system to show upcoming events and classes, and our virtual art mart that will soon be open to sell our artist-members’ artwork. We worked with Always Relevant Digital for the redesign.

Our Collection

RAM new website in laptop

At the heart of RAM is the Permanent Collection. This collection of hundreds of pieces of art has been collected, maintained, and displayed in Richmond for generations. Because of our limited gallery space, however, only a small fraction of the collection can be on display at any given time.

With the website redesign, we sought to share more of our unique collection. The digital collection also lets those who are unable to visit our museum the chance to see some of our best pieces. Currently, only a small portion of our collection has been added to the site, but we plan on putting more pieces online as time allows.

If you haven’t seen it yet, please go explore the Permanent Collection.

Events & Exhibitions

RAM is known for hosting some of the best events in Wayne County, including Phantoscope, Secret Garden Tour, and Potterpalooza. We also present art exhibitions year-round culminating in the Annual Exhibition. Our new website makes it easy to plan your visit around these events. The homepage clearly lists which exhibitions are currently on display and lists the next upcoming events. We hope this allows our patrons and members to never miss out.

Virtual Art Mart

This spring saw the cancellation and postponement of numerous regional art shows, competitions, and paint-outs. Artists who previously sold their art and made new customers at these events suffered financially. While many artists turned to Facebook or their own websites to sell their work, RAM’s Board and Staff saw the need for creating an online space where multiple artists could sell their work.

RAM’s new Virtual Art Mart is a curated space for artists to display their works for sale. It’s hoped that the marketplace will expose their work to new admirers who otherwise would not see their art. RAM members also benefit in having one central location to purchase the artwork from multiple artists. While the Virtual Art Mart is not open yet, we hope to have it fully set up this summer.
